Come with me around (half) the world in 180 days...

Hey Reader!

Sometimes, I try to write the amazing stories of travel that will hopefully inspire you to take that leap, book that ticket, and find a way to start traveling the world!

Other times I write to share tactical advice through guides and straightforward information, to help you find your happy place in the world as a nomad or lifestyle expat, as easily as possible, sharing the tidbits that I wish 25 year me would have known.

However, today, I want to take you on a journey with me, as a nomad in search of a new home in 2024, finding my way in an oddly chaotic post-pandemic world.

In my January to June 2024 journey of traveling around half the world across Asia, North America, and South America, I was able to compare the experience of travel post-pandemic, assess nomad hot spots now that the world has "reopened", and live life around the world now to figure out which is better, travel abroad or living abroad?

From Bali to Japan, to Texas, to Argentina, and beyond, come with me to discover why the lifestyle expat may be the new nomad, and why simply moving to the destination of your dreams (instead of travel) may be the escape plan you’ve been needing.

In “Part 1 | Escaping Bali: Paradise Lost” I reflect on:

  • How the “cool little nomad island of Bali” is caving under the pressure of overdevelopment and over-tourism, and why the lessons matter when picking your new international home
  • How places like Japan can restart the heart of any traveler, so never skip a chance to go
  • Why, if you live in the US, I highly recommend planning your escape soon

Take care!

Hey Reader! Carlos here, writing you from Medellin, Colombia, with some fun travel updates and thoughts for your chill Saturday. Being here in the green and beautiful El Pobaldo neighborhood (which I call the Beverly Hills of Medellin)and Medellin in general, also known as the “city of eternal spring,” have me in an amazing mood! If there is one place you need to visit that’s insanely underrated (even with the great reputation it already has) it’s Colombia. Plus, if you are considering moving...

Hey Reader! Good morning from Santiago, Chile! Today, as I sit in the old European architecture-lined streets of the Bellas Artes and Lastarria neighborhoods of Chile's capital, I want to share with you how Mendoza, Argentina has the best travel & wine experience** you’ve never heard of, and how I realized that, potentially, the wine and nature in Mendoza make the best nomad escape you’ve never heard of**, for focused work and a low cost of living in Argentina. But first, back to Chile… It’s...
